Secure Horizons

Secure Horizons is a prominent brand of Medicare Advantage plans currently operated by UnitedHealthcare, a division of UnitedHealth Group. Originally established by PacifiCare Health Systems in the 1980s, it became one of the first and largest Medicare Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) in the United States. The brand was integrated into UnitedHealthcare's portfolio following the $8.1 billion acquisition of PacifiCare in 2005. Secure Horizons provides managed healthcare services, including HMO and PPO plans, designed to coordinate care and offer supplemental benefits to Medicare-eligible individuals.
