SEEK-Pernix

SEEK-Pernix was a joint venture established in 2014 between the UK-based drug discovery group SEEK (formerly PepTcell) and the US-based specialty pharmaceutical company Pernix Therapeutics. The partnership was primarily focused on the development and commercialization of SEEK's lead vaccine candidates, most notably FLU-v, a universal influenza vaccine designed to provide broad-spectrum protection. The venture aimed to leverage SEEK's innovative T-cell vaccine platform and Pernix's commercial infrastructure in the United States. Key programs included FLU-v, which reached Phase 2 clinical trials, and HIV-v, a candidate for HIV treatment and prevention. The joint venture effectively dissolved following Pernix Therapeutics' financial restructuring and subsequent acquisition by Currax Pharmaceuticals in 2019.
