Company intelligence / Profile preview
Select Vaccines was an Australian biotechnology company specializing in the development of virus-like particle (VLP) vaccines and rapid diagnostic tools for infectious diseases. The company's core technology, the Anavax VLP platform, was developed in collaboration with the Burnet Institute and was designed to create highly immunogenic, adjuvant-free vaccines for targets such as influenza, hepatitis C, and HIV. In 2007, the company entered a high-profile partnership with AVANT Immunotherapeutics for a pandemic influenza vaccine, though the agreement was later terminated. Following a strategic shift, Select Vaccines sold its VLP technology assets to Germany-based Artes Biotechnology in 2010. The company subsequently exited the life sciences sector, rebranding as Select Exploration and eventually transitioning into the real estate technology firm Rent.com.au.
