Company intelligence / Profile preview
Sema4 was a leading genomics and health intelligence company spun out from Mount Sinai Health System in New York. It developed commercial diagnostic tests focused on carrier screening, hereditary cancer risk assessment, noninvasive prenatal testing, newborn/postnatal rare disease detection, and precision oncology. The company's core strength was its AI-powered integrated genomic & clinical data analytics platform used to inform patient care decisions at scale. In early commercial years it grew rapidly with major investments but was acquired by Opko Health in April/May of 2022 and rebranded as GeneDx. As such the original "Sema4" brand/company no longer operates independently.
