The company's flagship product, the Sensar acrylic intraocular lens, became a gold standard in cataract surgery due to its biocompatibility and optical performance. Sensar's technology was designed to provide surgeons with a reliable, foldable lens that could be inserted through small incisions, significantly improving patient recovery times. The company was eventually acquired by Allergan's surgical division, which later became part of Advanced Medical Optics (AMO) and subsequently Johnson & Johnson Vision.
