Company intelligence / Profile preview
Sensatex was a pioneering medical technology company that specialized in the development of smart textiles and wearable physiological monitoring systems. The company's flagship product, the SmartShirt, utilized conductive fibers and sensors woven directly into fabric to monitor vital signs such as heart rate, respiration, and body temperature. Originally based on the "Wearable Motherboard" technology developed at the Georgia Institute of Technology, the system was designed for applications in remote patient care, military health monitoring, and athletic performance. Although it was a first-mover in the wearable health space and secured significant venture capital, the company ceased operations in the mid-2000s.
