Sention

Sention was a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing treatments for cognitive disorders, including Alzheimer's disease and Fragile X syndrome. Founded on research from Brown University and MIT, the company focused on the molecular basis of memory and synaptic plasticity. Its primary research centered on modulating the metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 (mGluR5) to treat neurological conditions. In 2005, the company was acquired by Wyeth, which sought to integrate Sention's promising lead compounds into its own neuroscience pipeline. Following Wyeth's acquisition by Pfizer in 2009, the assets were further absorbed into the global Pfizer portfolio.
