Overview

Sequenom was a pioneer in non-invasive prenatal testing, launching the first commercial NIPT for trisomies such as Down syndrome. Its MaterniT21 PLUS test processed over 100,000 samples by early 2013 and was widely adopted in clinical practice. The company’s MassARRAY platform enabled high-throughput genetic analysis and diagnostics. In September 2016, LabCorp acquired Sequenom.
