SFPIM is Belgium’s sovereign wealth fund and investment company. It provides “smart capital” to Belgian innovation across multiple sectors including life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare technology, fintech, AI/ML software and more. Its role is to create sustainable long-term value for the Belgian economy by supporting both established companies and promising scale-ups through direct investments or participation in funds. In the health sector specifically, SFPIM has invested in numerous biotech/pharma companies such as ExeVir Bio (COVID nanobody therapeutics), EyeD Pharma (ophthalmology), Confo Therapeutics (GPCR-targeting drugs), Cognivia (AI for clinical trials), ATB Therapeutics (“atbody” biologic drugs) among others.
