SGAM Alternative Investments (SGAM AI) was the alternative investment subsidiary of Société Générale Asset Management. While a generalist investment firm, it operated a highly active Life Sciences venture capital team that focused on investing in early-to-mid-stage biotechnology, medical device, and healthcare technology companies across Europe and North America. The firm played a significant role in the European biotech ecosystem during the 2000s, providing capital and strategic guidance to numerous startups. Following the merger of Société Générale's and Crédit Agricole's asset management divisions, the entity was integrated into Amundi, and its private equity activities were largely spun off or rebranded.
