Shanghai APACTRON Particle Equipment developed the first domestically produced proton therapy system approved for marketing in China. The product received NMPA approval in September 2022 and represents a major technological advance for Chinese-made advanced medical devices. Over a decade of R&D led to mastery of the full technology chain, with over 85% local component manufacturing for the first unit—expected to reach full localization on subsequent systems.
