Shanghai Century Acquisition Corporation was a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) formed for the purpose of acquiring or merging with an operating business with primary operations in China. While the company initially targeted the healthcare and medical device sectors—most notably through a high-profile but ultimately terminated merger agreement with Amsino Medical Group in 2008—it eventually pivoted its focus. In 2010, the company completed a business combination with Ku6 Media, a leading Chinese internet video portal. Following the merger, the entity transitioned away from its original acquisition mandate and the healthcare sector entirely.
