Shanghai Modern Pharmaceutical Formulation Engineering Research Center is a specialized R&D subsidiary of Shanghai Modern Pharmaceutical, a member of the China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm). The center serves as a national-level engineering hub focused on the development and industrialization of advanced drug delivery systems (DDS). Its core expertise includes the design of sustained-release, controlled-release, and targeted oral formulations for small molecule therapeutics. Beyond internal R&D, the center provides technical services such as formulation optimization and consistency evaluation for generic drugs to meet international standards. It has successfully commercialized numerous products in the cardiovascular, anti-infective, and metabolic therapeutic areas.
