Company intelligence / Profile preview
Shanghai Zhongke Shenglongda Biotechnology (Group) Co., Ltd. was a Chinese biotechnology company established in 1999 as a joint venture involving the Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The company specialized in the development of recombinant protein therapeutics, most notably recombinant human parathyroid hormone (1-84) (PTH 1-84), branded as Kerun, which reached Phase 3 clinical trials for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis. Despite its early success in advancing peptide and protein drugs, the company was eventually liquidated, and its primary drug candidate, Kerun, was subsequently developed by Chongqing Kerun Biopharmaceutical. During its operation, the company also held significant patents for calcitonin analogs and was a key player in the early Chinese biotech landscape.
