Shape Up Us

Shape Up Us is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to "Building a Healthier Future" by empowering children and families to lead healthier, happier lives. Founded in 2002 and revitalized in 2009 under the leadership of Executive Director Jyl Steinback, the organization provides comprehensive health and wellness education through its three-pronged approach of Awareness, Education, and Action. Its flagship programs include the Hip Hop Healthy Heart Program for Children™, a K-6 curriculum used in 34 states, and the Clap4Health℠ national fitness campaign. Shape Up Us also hosts Health and Wellness Expos and Young Lions Ninja Warrior Obstacle Courses across the United States to promote physical activity and disease prevention. The organization's mission focuses on addressing childhood obesity and cardiovascular health through sustainable, community-based wellness solutions. By integrating social-emotional learning and nutrition education into school systems, Shape Up Us aims to create lifelong healthy habits for the next generation.
