Shasun Chemicals and Drugs

Shasun Chemicals and Drugs, later known as Shasun Pharmaceuticals, was a prominent Indian pharmaceutical company focused on the development and manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and finished dosage forms. The company established itself as a global leader in the production of Ibuprofen and other key APIs, serving major markets including the United States and Europe. Beyond manufacturing, Shasun provided comprehensive Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) services, ranging from early-stage process development to commercial-scale production. In November 2015, the company completed a significant merger with Strides Arcolab to form Strides Shasun, which was later renamed Strides Pharma Science. This merger integrated Shasun's API expertise with Strides' finished dosage capabilities, creating a vertically integrated global pharmaceutical entity.
