Company intelligence / Profile preview
Showa Denko Materials was the name used from October 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022 for the former Hitachi Chemical after its acquisition by Showa Denko. While the company was primarily an advanced materials and chemicals manufacturer, it also operated healthcare-related businesses in in vitro diagnostics and regenerative medicine manufacturing services. Its life sciences operations included diagnostic reagents and devices sold through the Minaris Medical brand and cell therapy/regenerative medicine CDMO services offered through Minaris Regenerative Medicine. On January 1, 2023, Showa Denko Materials merged with Showa Denko and the operating company was renamed Resonac. As a result, Showa Denko Materials is best understood as a historical predecessor entity rather than a currently operating standalone company.
