The Shuptrine Company was a pharmaceutical firm founded in 1877 in Savannah, Georgia, by James T. Shuptrine. The company became well-known for its proprietary patent medicines, specifically its flagship product, Tetterine, which was marketed as a highly effective ointment for skin diseases including eczema, ringworm, and tetter. Operating as both a retail pharmacy and a wholesale manufacturer, the company played a significant role in the regional healthcare market of the Southern United States for several decades.
