Sichuan Yanyang Biotechnology

Sichuan Yanyang Biotechnology (also known as Anaerobe or Sichuan Anaerobic Biotechnology) is a clinical-stage Chinese biotechnology company specializing in the development of Live Biotherapeutic Products (LBPs) derived from human anaerobic microorganisms. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Chengdu's Tianfu International Bio-town, the company has established a comprehensive "from strain to drug" platform, including a library of over 2,000 human microbial strains. Its lead candidate, KAL-001, is a quadruple Lactobacillus capsule in Phase 2 clinical trials for bacterial vaginosis and postmenopausal atrophic vaginitis. The company is also advancing KAL-002, a multi-strain formula for chemotherapy-induced diarrhea and radiation enteritis, which received IND approval in 2024. Sichuan Yanyang has secured significant funding from investors such as Wedge Industrial and Dao Yuan Capital, and has entered into a major licensing agreement with Shuangqi Pharmaceutical for the commercialization of its lead program in Greater China.
