Siddha Clinical Research Unit

The Siddha Clinical Research Unit (SCRU) is a specialized research organization operating under the Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS), an autonomous body of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The unit is dedicated to the scientific validation, standardization, and clinical evaluation of the Siddha system of medicine, one of the oldest traditional treatment systems in India. SCRU conducts rigorous clinical trials on herbal and herbo-mineral formulations to address modern health challenges such as psoriasis, diabetes, and viral infections like dengue and COVID-19. In addition to research, the unit provides outpatient healthcare services and works on the documentation of traditional medical knowledge. By integrating ancient wisdom with contemporary research methodologies, SCRU aims to provide evidence-based traditional therapies to the global healthcare community.
