Company intelligence / Profile preview
Sigma Proligo was a leading global provider of nucleic acid products, specializing in the custom synthesis of DNA and RNA oligonucleotides. Formed as a joint venture and later acquired by Sigma-Aldrich in 2005, the company played a crucial role in providing reagents for genomics research, molecular diagnostics, and therapeutic development. Its portfolio included siRNA for gene knockdown, dual-labeled probes for qPCR, and specialized phosphoramidite chemistry. The business was eventually integrated into the Life Science division of Merck KGaA, known as MilliporeSigma, following the 2015 merger. Today, its legacy continues through MilliporeSigma's extensive oligonucleotide and custom synthesis service offerings.
