Silac refers to prominent specialized manufacturers of medical-grade silicone and elastomer products for the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries, most notably the former Silac AB in Sweden and Silac SAS in France. Silac AB, founded in 1985 and based in Örebro, was a leading producer of high-performance silicone tubing and components before its acquisition by Trelleborg Sealing Solutions in 2011. Silac SAS continues to operate independently in France, focusing on the transformation of elastomers for the healthcare, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical sectors. These entities are critical suppliers in the life sciences supply chain, providing biocompatible materials such as tubing, gaskets, and molded parts used in drug delivery systems, bioprocessing equipment, and surgical instruments.
