Silicon Genetics

Silicon Genetics was a private U.S. life science informatics company that developed software for genomic and proteomic data analysis, management, and mining for researchers in academia, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical companies. Its best-known products included GeneSpring for microarray data visualization and analysis, GeNet for enterprise data management, Varia for genetic variation analysis, and SpringCore for microarray core facilities. The company focused on enabling high-throughput biology workflows rather than developing therapeutics, providing software and professional services to support drug discovery and disease research. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Redwood City, California, Silicon Genetics was acquired by Agilent Technologies in 2004. Following the acquisition, its technology and team were integrated into Agilent's life science informatics business.
