Sime Darby Unimills

Sime Darby Unimills was a Netherlands-based vegetable oils and specialty ingredients company focused on tailor-made plant-based oils, fats, and lecithin ingredients for the food industry. The business operated a multi-oil refinery and specialty lecithin production facility in Zwijndrecht, serving primarily European food manufacturers. It was part of the downstream oils business of Sime Darby Plantation, later Sime Darby Oils, and was subsequently renamed rather than developed as a biotech or healthcare company. Publicly available sources indicate the entity name changed from Sime Darby Unimills B.V. to Sime Darby Oils Zwijndrecht Refinery B.V. in 2019, and later to SD Guthrie International Zwijndrecht Refinery B.V. in 2024. The company is therefore best characterized as an industrial food-ingredients manufacturer, not a life sciences business.
