Slovakofarma was a prominent Slovak pharmaceutical company headquartered in Hlohovec, specializing in the production of generic medicines, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and over-the-counter products. Established in 1941, it grew to become the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in Slovakia and a significant player in the Central and Eastern European markets. The company maintained a diverse portfolio covering therapeutic areas such as cardiology, rheumatology, and neuropsychiatry, and was well-known for its vitamin brands like Celaskon. In 2003, Slovakofarma merged with the Czech pharmaceutical company Léčiva to form Zentiva, which subsequently became one of the leading generic drug manufacturers in Europe. Today, the Hlohovec site continues to operate as a key manufacturing facility within the Zentiva group.
