Small Bone Innovations

Small Bone Innovations was a privately held orthopedic medical device company focused on implants, instruments, and biologic solutions for the small bones and joints of the upper and lower extremities. The company specialized in trauma, fixation, arthroplasty, and small joint replacement products for areas such as the hand, wrist, elbow, foot, and ankle. Its best-known products included the Scandinavian Total Ankle Replacement (STAR) system and other extremity reconstruction offerings. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, the company built an international footprint with operations in Europe and distribution across dozens of countries. Stryker announced an agreement to acquire substantially all of Small Bone Innovations' assets on June 30, 2014, and subsequently completed the North American asset acquisition on August 1, 2014.
