SMILES Center for Independent Living

SMILES Center for Independent Living is a Minnesota nonprofit disability-services organization that operates as a state-certified Center for Independent Living in south-central Minnesota. The organization supports people of all ages and disability types through advocacy, independent living skills training, peer mentoring, information and referral, assistive technology and ramp services, PCA-related support, representative payee services, and transitions from institutional to community living. It is not a biotech or pharmaceutical developer and does not appear to run a therapeutic drug pipeline. Instead, its work is focused on community-based disability support, accessibility, and helping consumers live more independently across Region 9 in Minnesota. The organization has been active for more than 25 years and maintains multiple offices including a main location in Mankato.
