Société générale de financement du Québec (SGF) was a provincial crown corporation and investment group based in Quebec, Canada, focused on industrial and economic development. Through its specialized subsidiary, SGF Santé, the organization was one of the most significant investors in the Canadian life sciences and biotechnology sectors for several decades. It provided equity financing, venture capital, and strategic support to companies involved in drug discovery, medical devices, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. In 2011, the SGF was merged with Investissement Québec to consolidate the province's economic development agencies. During its tenure, it played a critical role in establishing Montreal as a global hub for biotechnology by anchoring major research and development projects.
