The Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC), which later rebranded as the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care, was a non-profit international professional organization dedicated to improving care for patients with cardiovascular disease. Founded in 1998, the organization was best known for developing and managing a rigorous accreditation process for hospitals to ensure they met high standards in treating acute coronary syndrome and heart failure. Its protocol-driven approach aimed to reduce mortality and improve clinical outcomes through standardized emergency cardiac care. In 2016, the SCPC merged with the American College of Cardiology (ACC), integrating its accreditation services into the ACC's suite of clinical quality improvement programs.
