Soft Cell Biological Research (SCBR) is a biotechnology company based in St. George, Utah, specializing in the study of the circulating microbiome and L-form (cell wall deficient) bacteria. Founded in 2014 by J. Brent Hunt, the company has developed a proprietary, patent-pending protocol to culture and sequence these "dark bacteria" which are often linked to chronic and autoimmune diseases. Through its subsidiary, Soft Cell Labs, the company provides high-complexity molecular diagnostic testing, including pharmacogenomics (PGx) and infectious disease panels. SCBR's research aims to bridge the gap between hidden bacterial infections and conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and recurrent urinary tract infections.
