Company intelligence / Profile preview
Solae was a leading global supplier of soy-based food ingredients such as protein isolates, concentrates, flours, lecithins, fibers, and polymers. The company’s products were widely used in research supporting FDA health claims about soy protein’s benefits for heart health and other conditions. It collaborated with major companies like Monsanto to develop new nutritional products but did not develop pharmaceuticals or clinical-stage therapeutics. In 2012 it became wholly owned by DuPont; its business was later merged into Danisco/DuPont Nutrition & Health. In 2021 IFF acquired DuPont Nutrition & Health—including the former Solae business—and the brand ceased to exist independently.
