Solbec Pharmaceuticals was an Australian biotechnology company focused on the development of naturally derived therapeutic compounds for the treatment of cancer and other life-threatening conditions. The company's primary research centered on Coramsine (SBP002), a proprietary formulation of glycoalkaloids extracted from the Solanum linnaeanum plant, which was designed to trigger apoptosis in malignant cells. Coramsine reached Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials for indications including malignant melanoma and renal cell carcinoma. Following a period of corporate restructuring and a shift in focus toward drug delivery systems, the company rebranded as Suda Ltd in 2012. The entity currently operates as Arovella Therapeutics, focusing on invariant Natural Killer T (iNKT) cell therapy.
