Solco Basel

Solco Basel was a Swiss pharmaceutical company founded in 1947 and headquartered in Birsfelden, Switzerland. The company specialized in the development, manufacture, and distribution of pharmaceutical products with a focus on wound healing, dermatology, and circulatory disorders. Its most notable product was Solcoseryl, a deproteinized hemodialysate used for various ischemic and tissue-repair indications. In 2000, Solco Basel was acquired by ICN Pharmaceuticals (now Bausch Health Companies) for its manufacturing capabilities and established market presence in Europe and Asia. The company's operations were eventually integrated, and its Birsfelden manufacturing site later became part of Legacy Pharmaceuticals before the entity was officially terminated in 2019.
