Solectron was a global leader in electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and a major contract manufacturing organization (CMO) for the medical device and healthcare industries. The company provided end-to-end supply chain solutions, including design, manufacturing, and after-market services for complex medical equipment such as imaging systems, patient monitors, and diagnostic tools. At its peak, Solectron was a Fortune 500 company and a two-time winner of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. In 2007, the company was acquired by Flextronics (now Flex) for approximately $3.6 billion, integrating its extensive healthcare manufacturing capabilities into Flex's medical division.
