Company intelligence / Profile preview
SoloPak Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company that specialized in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of sterile injectable generic drugs. The company was a significant provider of essential hospital medications, most notably heparin products, including heparin lock flushes and heparin sodium injections. Based in Illinois, SoloPak maintained high-volume manufacturing capabilities for small-volume parenterals. After being acquired by Smith & Nephew and subsequently sold to Allegiance Healthcare, its product lines and facilities eventually became part of Cardinal Health. The company played a critical role in the supply chain for generic injectables during the 1990s. SoloPak was recognized for its focus on niche injectable markets that were often overlooked by larger pharmaceutical firms.
