Company intelligence / Profile preview
Sound Bioventures does not develop drugs directly but invests in private biotech companies at or near clinical stage. Their current investment focus includes novel therapeutics for high unmet medical needs across oncology, cardiometabolic disease, ophthalmology, rare kidney disorders, neurodegeneration, and autoimmune disease. In recent years they have supported several programs entering or advancing through early clinical trials—e.g., Theolytics’ oncolytic virus for ovarian cancer entered first-in-human studies in late 2024; AnaCardio advanced its heart failure drug into Phase IIa; NephroDI moved toward first-in-human studies for nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. Two new stealth-mode Swedish biotechs were also created under their guidance in late preclinical development.
