SoundCath

SoundCath is a medical technology company specializing in the development of advanced, miniaturized ultrasound imaging systems for cardiac interventions. Founded in 2018, the company focuses on creating high-resolution 2D and 4D Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) catheters utilizing Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) transducer technology. This innovative platform, marketed under names such as TruSite and IceSite, is designed to provide superior image quality and maneuverability at a lower cost compared to traditional piezoelectric-based catheters. These devices are primarily intended for use in electrophysiology procedures, including ablation for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, as well as structural heart interventions. In May 2024, SoundCath was acquired by Boston Scientific to bolster its cardiovascular portfolio and expand its procedural guidance offerings.
