Southeast Gastro

Southeast Gastro was a Birmingham, Alabama-based adult gastroenterology group providing evaluation and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, along with diagnostic and preventive procedures through clinic locations and surgery centers in Central Alabama. The practice was founded in 1976 and built a regional footprint with multiple clinics and endoscopy/surgery centers serving the Birmingham metropolitan area. In April 2019, Southeast Gastro was acquired by Gastro Health and has since been operated as Gastro Health Alabama, with the legacy Southeast Gastro name used primarily in historical references. The organization focused on physician-led digestive care rather than therapeutic drug development, so it did not have a biotech-style R&D pipeline. Its core business centered on specialty gastroenterology services, endoscopy-related procedures, and patient care delivery.
