Southern Assisted Living was a leading regional provider of assisted living and specialized memory care services based in the Southeastern United States. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, the company operated a network of over 40 residential communities across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Their service model focused on providing high-quality care, personalized assistance, and dedicated support for seniors, particularly those with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. In December 2006, the company was acquired by Brookdale Senior Living for approximately $65 million. This acquisition allowed Brookdale to significantly expand its presence in the Southeast and integrate Southern Assisted Living's regional expertise into its national operations.
