Company intelligence / Profile preview
Spartan Bioscience was a Canadian molecular diagnostics company focused on rapid sample-to-result DNA testing at or near the point of care. Its flagship platform, the Spartan Cube, integrated DNA collection, extraction, amplification, and analysis in a portable PCR-based system used in precision medicine, infectious disease, and water testing applications. In 2021, Spartan's primary assets were acquired by Casa-Dea Finance and the business was reconstituted as Genomadix, which continues to commercialize and expand the platform. The core commercial offering now centers on rapid pharmacogenomic testing, including an FDA-cleared CYP2C19 genotyping assay to guide dual antiplatelet therapy decisions. Spartan is therefore best understood as the predecessor company to Genomadix rather than a currently independent operating biotech.
