Specialty BioSystems was a California-based engineering firm that specialized in high-purity process systems and aseptic transfer technologies for the biopharmaceutical industry. The company was best known for its Bio-Safe product line, which provided innovative solutions for the sterile transfer of fluids and components in cleanroom environments. In December 2006, Specialty BioSystems was acquired by Sartorius Stedim Biotech, a global leader in bioprocessing equipment.
