Specialty Medijuana Products

Specialty Medijuana Products Inc. (SMP) was a Canadian cannabis cultivation company based in Sooke, British Columbia. Founded in 2013 by Michael Forbes and Ian Laing, the company focused on producing high-quality medical and adult-use cannabis. In 2018, SMP was acquired by Choom Holdings Inc., an emerging cannabis retail and lifestyle brand, to serve as its primary cultivation and production arm. SMP received its cultivation license from Health Canada in October 2018, allowing it to supply products to Choom's retail network. Following the financial difficulties and subsequent receivership of its parent company in 2022, SMP's operations were impacted as part of the broader liquidation of Choom's assets.
