Company intelligence / Profile preview
Speedus Corp. was a technology holding company that transitioned into the healthcare sector primarily through its majority ownership of Zargis Medical, a joint venture with Siemens. The company's flagship product, the Zargis Cardioscan, was an FDA-cleared diagnostic software platform designed to assist clinicians in identifying and analyzing heart murmurs using digital stethoscope data. Speedus also developed the Stethos platform, which enabled the wireless transmission of heart and lung sounds for telemedicine applications. Despite achieving regulatory clearances and commercializing its heart sound analysis technology, the company faced financial challenges and was liquidated in 2011.
