Spring Bank Technologies

Spring Bank Pharmaceuticals, originally founded as Spring Bank Technologies, was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that developed a novel class of therapeutics using its proprietary Small Molecule Nucleic Acid Hybrid (SMNH) chemistry platform. The company's lead candidate, inarigivir soproxil, was a RIG-I agonist designed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B, though its development was halted following safety concerns in Phase 2 trials. Spring Bank also advanced SB 11285, an intravenously administered STING agonist, into Phase 1/2 clinical trials for the treatment of solid tumors. In November 2020, the company completed a reverse merger with F-star Therapeutics, transitioning its focus toward bispecific antibodies while continuing to leverage its STING-related assets. The combined entity was subsequently acquired by invoX Pharma, a subsidiary of Sino Biopharmaceutical, in 2023.
