St. Joseph Hoag Health

St. Joseph Hoag Health was a prominent integrated healthcare network in Orange County, California, established in 2013 as a joint venture between St. Joseph Health and Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. The partnership, governed by the Covenant Health Network, integrated seven hospitals and a vast network of physicians to provide comprehensive medical services and population health management. Following the 2016 merger of St. Joseph Health with Providence Health & Services, Hoag leaders sought to dissolve the affiliation to reclaim local governance and expand services, including reproductive health. The partnership officially ended in January 2022, with Hoag returning to independent operation and the St. Joseph facilities continuing as part of the Providence system. During its tenure, the network was a major regional provider of specialized care in oncology, cardiology, and orthopedics.
