StarFish Medical is Canada’s largest medical device design, development and contract manufacturing organization. Founded in 1999 by Scott Phillips, the company provides end-to-end services—including engineering design, prototyping, regulatory consulting (FDA/Health Canada), ISO13485-certified manufacturing with cleanroom capabilities—to medtech innovators across North America. It specializes in complex electro-mechanical devices spanning cardiovascular care, diagnostics/IVD/microfluidics/PCR assays/digital health solutions/ophthalmology/surgical tools. The firm does not develop its own clinical pipeline but enables client products to reach market efficiently via its proprietary Pathfinder™ process and advanced technical expertise. In recent years it expanded by acquiring Omnica Corporation in California and Kangaroo Group in Toronto.
