State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) is the primary state-owned enterprise responsible for the procurement, distribution, and retail of pharmaceutical products in Sri Lanka. Established in 1971, the corporation ensures the availability of essential medicines and surgical items for both the public health sector and the private market. SPC operates an extensive network of retail pharmacies known as 'Rajya Osu Sala' and maintains a central role in the country's healthcare supply chain. Its mission focuses on providing high-quality, affordable healthcare products to the Sri Lankan population through efficient procurement and distribution systems. The organization works closely with the Ministry of Health to manage the national drug formulary and supply logistics.
