Steiermärkische Gebietskrankenkasse (STGKK) was the statutory health insurance carrier for the province of Styria, Austria, providing coverage to approximately one million insured individuals. As a public-law corporation, it managed healthcare services, including outpatient medical care, pharmaceutical benefits, and hospital financing within its jurisdiction. On January 1, 2020, the organization was dissolved and merged into the newly created Österreichische Gesundheitskasse (ÖGK) as part of a nationwide structural reform of the Austrian social security system. The merger consolidated nine regional funds into a single national entity to standardize healthcare benefits across the country.
