Stemodontics was a biotechnology company specializing in the collection and preservation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from dental pulp. The company partnered with oral and maxillofacial surgeons to offer patients the opportunity to bank stem cells harvested from wisdom teeth during routine extractions. These cryopreserved cells were intended for future use in personalized regenerative medicine, potentially treating conditions in orthopedics, neurology, and cardiology. Originally a subsidiary of BioLife Solutions, the business was discontinued in late 2020 as the parent company shifted its strategic focus toward its core bioproduction tools and services for the cell and gene therapy industry.
