Company intelligence / Profile preview
Sterwin Medicines (originally incorporated as Openheath Limited in 1987, and later known as Sanofi Pharma Ltd and Sanofi-Synthelabo Limited) was a UK-based pharmaceutical company specializing in generic medicines. In 2000, the company was renamed Sterwin Medicines Limited, operating as a generic drug division under Sanofi-Synthelabo. It was subsequently renamed Winthrop Pharmaceuticals UK Limited in 2004 and eventually Zentiva Pharma UK Limited in 2018 following Sanofi's divestment of its European generics business to Advent International. Today, the underlying corporate entity remains active as Zentiva Pharma UK Limited, a major supplier of affordable generic, branded specialty, and over-the-counter medicines to the NHS.
